What current real life story do you think could be used as a parable to teach a specific beatitude for Christian followers?

I think the election of President Obama is one real life story that can be used as a parable to teach a specific beatitude for Christian followers. This can be used to teach the message of forgiveness, reconciliation and moving on no matter how hard things have been in the past.

·  Identify another religious text from a religion other than Christianity.

Another religious text from a religion other than Christianity is Nevi’im which is a scripture from the Hebrew Bible.

·  Describe briefly who it was written by and its purpose. 

This scripture was written by Joshua. It contains a history of the Israelites from the death of Moses to Joshuas own death. It writes about how Joshua is Moses successor and how he receives the command from God to cross the Jordan river.

·  Provide ONE example of the type of writing found within the document.

The book essentially consists of three parts:

1.      The history of the conquest of the land (1-12).

2.      The allotment of the land to the different tribes, with the appointment of cities of refuge, the provision for the Levites (13-22), and the dismissal of the eastern tribes to their homes.

3.      The farewell addresses of Joshua, with an account of his death (23, 24).

·  How is it different in purpose to the bible?

There are not many differences between the Nevi`im and the Bible besides the fact that they call Joshua a prophet as he is just reffered to as Jesus disciple in the Bible.

If you were given the opportunity to write a chapter for the bible what would you write about? What messages would you want your readers to take away?

If I was given this opportunity I would right about my own experiences as a young Catholic. From this I would like my readers to take away the message of how being a young Christian is a long ride of crossroads. You question your faith often and you begin to understand yourself and your religion a lot more.

Well without the bible Christianly from my point of view would be exactly the same as it is today. The Bible was written over a period of 1400 to 1800 years therefore the message of our lord spread not by text but by oral. And without the bible all Christians around the world would still have the same knowledge about God, this would be possible through all his disciples, apostles and saints   

I do not agree with James although i do understand were he is coming from. The word of God would not have spread all over the world without the bible being written. The bible plays a very important role in the peoples knowledge about God.

If the bible was never written Christianity would have been a whole lot different from what it is today. People would not have anything to believe in. Christians would have a very brief knowledge about who Jesus is.
